“Wolfs” is a fairly gloomy crime thriller that didn’t fully capitalize on what it could have been. My main issue with this movie is that it seems to sideline some genuinely compelling supporting characters to give more focus to the lead actors, George Clooney and Brad Pitt. My wife, who watched it with me, described it as an unsatisfying experience, and I share her feeling. Sometimes a performance can be so striking that it overshadows everything else, but usually, it’s the combined effort of the entire cast that elevates a film. It's disappointing that these other characters weren’t given more to do, because I believe the movie would have been stronger if they had been. Ultimately, it’s still fairly easy to watch, but also feels rushed and unfinished. Basically, “Wolfs” doesn’t live up to its promise due to choices that restrict the film's overall scope and depth; it’s mildly enjoyable, but not particularly memorable.
