The film relies very little on magical elements, leading some to question whether any supernatural occurrences actually take place. Nevertheless, the group of young adults finds themselves in what appears to be serious trouble with forces beyond their understanding, making for an engaging and consistently interesting viewing experience. The movie’s rhythm is excellent, and the performances are strong as well. The actors chosen were all agreeable to look at, though not strikingly beautiful, which allows viewers to concentrate on the narrative itself. While the plot isn't particularly groundbreaking, that doesn’t detract from its quality. It avoids many of the predictable moments of silliness common in this type of film, and noticeable gaps in logic are infrequent. I would have appreciated a more definitive resolution; however, perhaps a follow-up installment is planned, which I think would be fantastic. I'm giving it 8 stars because the occasional startling scenes and overall unsettling feeling were perfectly executed, and I was thoroughly amused from beginning to end. <3 28 August 2019 I’m transferring my reviews from another platform that has unfortunately become unusable.
