It’s an enjoyable film that I would happily watch again and suggest to others. I appreciate Joey King’s work ("The Act"), as well as Kate Hudson (“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”), and even Zach Graff ("Scrubs") and Josh Gad ("Frozen") all deliver strong performances. Despite having some humorous moments, the movie isn't particularly laugh-out-loud funny; it feels more like a serious story softened for easy consumption, though perhaps predictably so. The narrative incorporates familiar themes of hardship and tragic family occurrences, interwoven with well-developed secondary storylines. Although it’s an uplifting portrayal of overcoming difficulties, it remains emotionally weighty and sad—much like reality—because it's about moving beyond the negative experiences to find positive growth.
