Rasmus Bjerg portrays “Martin” in a convincing manner, depicting someone akin to a Viking pursuing an animal with a bow—though he turns out to be quite ineffective. We soon learn that he’s not a reliable hunter, preferring snacks like crisps and chocolate. While he's gathering food, some men driving on the road have trouble with a moose, and after assuming his companions are dead, the injured “Musa” (Zaki Youssef) leaves the vehicle to seek assistance. It is "Martin" who locates him and provides basic first aid before they start out together in search of his tent. Meanwhile, it’s established that law enforcement officials are pursuing those responsible for the incident with the moose, and when they arrest “Musa”, “Martin” gets involved, making himself a wanted person alongside his new acquaintance—this sets up some silly adventures across the wilderness. The situation is compounded by the fact that his friends are still alive and are also looking for him, all because of what’s inside a sports bag! There are moments when this film is genuinely amusing, and Bjerg demonstrates a sense of comedic timing; however, the narrative loses momentum and becomes overly absurd as criminals, police officers, and the pair converge on an underwhelming conclusion. The scenery is beautiful to look at, and the writing manages to elicit some enjoyment from the characters' quirks—particularly Rune Temte’s portrayal of “Henrik,” who leads a community of actual Vikings cooking recently caught meat over a fire (while their car remains parked nearby). It seems to strain for laughs at times, but it offers something different and is worth seeing.
