The movie "White Mischief" depicts how members of the British upper class responded to the bombing raids on London: they left for Kenya, continuing their luxurious and unrestrained lifestyle. This existence was clearly a matter of luck rather than earned success through hard work and ambition overcoming adversity. Such characters are generally uninteresting and have little connection to the lives of most people, so it's unexpected that this film would appeal to anyone beyond those who already enjoy or desire that kind of life. Still, any interest generated is short-lived because there’s not much to break up the relentless and dull nature of what unfolds.
