The movie begins with "What's a demon, but an angel who fell?"—a question that sets the stage for this intense story reminiscent of *Omen*, only with a kidnapping scheme added into the mix. Josh Holloway portrays Max, a man struggling to get by and recently freed from prison. He’s easily swayed by Sydney, his longtime friend, who proposes they kidnap an eight-year-old boy along with their mutual buddy Vince for money. Young David was specifically chosen for this job by someone they're working for (Jones). Although Max is hesitant initially, a rejected loan forces him to go along with the plan. It doesn’t take long before it becomes obvious that David Sandborn isn’t just any kid. He seems to be aware of everyone’s secrets and what’s going to happen, and the group keeps hearing voices they believe are coming from him. Max's girlfriend, Roxanne, opposed this plan from the start—partly because she has a bad feeling about it, partly because of her past with Vince. Perhaps her instincts are warning her that this boy is capable of anything to make them betray one another. David already knows what he wants and will use anyone who stands in his way. *Whisper* is a disturbing movie where an outwardly normal child is vicious, and there appears to be no boundary to his power. It earns a 7/10.
