Sandra Bullock carries much of the weight in this enjoyable, though somewhat improbable romance. She plays a woman working at a Chicago train station booth who notices "Peter" (played by Peter Gallagher), always impeccably dressed in cashmere. Having developed a fondness for him, she’s worried when he's attacked and falls onto the tracks, fearing he’ll be hit by the 7:45 express. She pulls him to safety, and soon they are in the hospital where he has lost his memory, leading her to create a story suggesting they are engaged. Only his brother "Jack" (Bill Pullman) seems doubtful about this woman no one in his family knows, and as their interactions become more playful, something else begins to develop. The plot proceeds along expected lines, but there’s an appealing connection between Bullock's animated performance and Pullman’s, with Jack Warden and Glynis Johns contributing memorable moments within the family setting. It doesn't elicit uproarious laughter, but it leaves you feeling pleasantly content as the story unfolds in a friendly manner.
