The film evokes the feel of those initial silent movies, centering on a pig in formal attire who finds her refrigerator’s milk has wandered off toward the trash. She puts on her outerwear to get more, and upon entering a store, collides with a rooster also doing his shopping. Even though his lemons spill onto the ground, he continues onward—a misstep that leads to trouble! The plot isn't particularly strong, but the animation style is quite striking; it creates a near-photographic quality at times before transitioning into a more flowing sequence of images as the shopper processes what has occurred. Numerous animals exhibiting human characteristics are shown performing everyday activities like watching television—all set against a soundtrack reminiscent of the 1940s and seemingly linked by their reliance on electricity. It’s an unusual and inventive piece, with quite a bit unfolding even before morning.
