Although it doesn’t possess the same eccentricities as 'Jojo Rabbit' or the intense theatricality of 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', 'When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit' has much to offer. It may not deliver the immediate emotional impact that some viewers could anticipate from a film dealing with this subject matter, but it incorporates unexpected humor which enhances its emotional depth and is deeply moving—most importantly, it prompts significant questions for younger audiences. Among films designed to introduce children to the realities of World War II, this one certainly makes a strong case for being considered among the best.
