The film had an antiquated quality, as if it came from a period I hadn’t lived through. That sense of being out-of-date frequently resulted in a dull and aggravating viewing experience—similar to being delayed indefinitely at an airport. The deliberate slowness and uninspired story tested the patience of everyone present. It appeared designed more for those looking back fondly than for highlighting performers who have been absent from film for some time. Their effort to recreate a previous style of movies, featuring David and Meg Ryan, didn’t work out, unable to bring back the chemistry they once had. The romantic comedy that previously charmed audiences in the 1990s now seems to lack appeal, and it's clear that tastes have changed. Perhaps bringing in newer actors could offer a way to revitalize this kind of story. Without a different viewpoint, it’s difficult to recapture the feeling of past cinematic successes.
