As someone who really enjoys stop-motion animation and Henry Selick’s work, I have to say this movie didn't live up to expectations. It doesn't measure up to films like 'Nightmare Before Christmas' or 'Coraline'. The visuals are impressive; however, I would have liked to see more traditional methods used, with fewer digital elements and green screen effects—though it was still quite good. My main issue is the story itself, which feels overstuffed. It’s unclear what audience this film is intended for – kids or adults? The characters also feel underdeveloped; it's difficult to connect with or care about any of them. If you appreciate stop-motion animation, then it might be worth seeing, but don’t go in expecting something truly special.
