The opening line about someone mistaking "Moby Dick" for a disease got a chuckle out of me, but I honestly started to question if it would ever finish! “John” (Owen Wilson) and his friend “Jeremy” (Vince Vaughn) are two guys who’ve made a lucrative business out of disrupting other people's weddings – usually without knowing anyone there – and seeing what happens. Then things take an unexpected turn, landing them at the home of the US Treasury Secretary (Christopher Walken), where a complicated web of romantic relationships develops between the two men, “Claire” (Rachel McAdams), "Gloria" (Isla Fisher), and the stuffy “Sack” (Bradley Cooper). To top it off, “Todd,” the house’s gay son (Keir O'Donnell), becomes interested in one of them. Not only are romantic entanglements escalating, but the friendship between the two men is also being tested. The family seems to think these guys are something they're not, and it was clear that eventually they would have to reveal their true identities – and possibly face some consequences. There were a few funny parts, but it felt excessively long and stretched out, with most of the amusement fading after about twenty minutes. What followed was a series of increasingly elaborate situations reminiscent of "American Pie." The actors do have good comedic timing and deliver their lines well, but the humor is immature and predictable, as are many of the jokes and situations. It’s not terrible, just feels old-fashioned and unsophisticated. Ellen Albertini Dow provides some entertainment playing the eccentric grandmother in a way that recalls Una O'Connor and Mildred Natwick, but beyond that, it didn’t really appeal to me.
