Initially, I found myself wondering about all the buzz surrounding this anime because it begins at a deliberate pace. However, that slower start allows you to connect with and understand the characters before the story really takes off later on. I became completely engrossed in what was happening, feeling anxious as I wasn’t sure how everything would resolve itself. The visuals are simply breathtaking; there's hardly sufficient vocabulary to convey just how stunning they are, or how well the traditional and computer-generated animation styles work together. Both the original Japanese voice actors and their English dub counterparts deliver excellent performances, and the music and score are also superb. Following works like *The Garden of Words* and *Your Name*, Makoto Shinkai is establishing himself as a true master, comparable to Miyazaki. It’s destined to become a classic.
