I’m not seeing what all the fuss is about; it felt like a collection of startling moments strung together with numerous unanswered questions, and a narrative that feels disjointed. The storytelling avoids simple explanations—like why law enforcement didn't investigate where the missing children lived—which is frustrating. There was one scene I thought worked well, involving the main female character sleeping in a vehicle; I won’t say more, but beyond that, it was just jump scares, and nothing else... truly nothing else. It’s a film that invites you to consider it, though honestly, it's better if you don't. A little bit of reflection reveals how obvious the flaws are. Aside from all the sudden shocks and cops behaving strangely for no reason, plus people just running around with their arms outstretched, that pretty much sums it up... and inexplicably, a lot of people seem to enjoy it.
