We Summon The Darkness shows sparks of creativity and energy amidst stretches that feel predictable and ultimately detract from the film. Fortunately, these brighter moments do inject some life into what’s happening on screen, hinting at considerable promise. With appealing performers and plenty of graphic content, there's likely something to appeal to a wide audience, even if it doesn’t completely deliver. The bloodshed is enjoyable, the home-invasion scenario provides amusement, though it feels somewhat diluted, and the characters are ultimately what make this worthwhile, including an amusingly bizarre stepmother character that contributes to the overall enjoyment.
