Those who appreciate zombie stories might find something to like in this film... or maybe not! The plot resorts to an inexpensive trick by establishing two categories of zombies: the helpful ones and the harmful ones. It disregards numerous conventions associated with zombies so that it can advance its narrative, which could lead some viewers to dislike it if they consider themselves strict adherents to zombie lore. However, since I’m not one of those people, I genuinely enjoyed this movie. The writing is entertaining, the actors were well-chosen, and Hoult and Palmer deliver excellent performances. It's also consistently enjoyable to see a film featuring John Malkovich.
