A sorcerer facing execution in 1691 Massachusetts (played by Julian Sands) finds himself unexpectedly moved through time to 1988, with a determined witch-hunter (Richard E. Grant) hot on his trail. He joins forces with a young woman (Lori Singer) as they hunt down this dangerous figure. "Warlock," released in 1989, shares some parallels with “Terminator,” except that instead of characters traveling from the future, it involves people arriving from earlier eras. It’s an exciting pursuit movie featuring a unique scenario of someone adjusting to a new time period. While the initial portion is quite good, the latter half doesn't maintain the same level of impact. Still, this proves to be a very enjoyable film, largely due to the compelling portrayal of the heroic lead (Grant) and the captivating presence of the villainous central character (Sands). The movie has a runtime of 1 hour, 43 minutes, and filming locations include Plimoth Patuxet in Massachusetts, as well as various areas within Los Angeles County, California—such as Santa Paula, City, and Hermosa Beach—and Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
