American soldiers pick out a house in Ramadi, move its residents downstairs, and establish a sniper post to observe the surrounding area. At first, everything seems ordinary as locals carry on with their routines, but the spotters soon become wary of recurring patterns and individuals who appear to be watching them—and then things escalate dramatically, plunging them into an extreme situation that challenges their skills, resources, and requires clever maneuvers if they hope to survive until help arrives. The tension is palpable throughout this story as these young men under attack confront their anxieties, capabilities, and shortcomings amidst a relentless barrage of fire. Will Poulter portrays “Erik,” the team leader, but D’Pharoah Woon-A-Tai delivered a standout performance as the communications specialist "Ray," and Kit Connor also made an impression as the inexperienced "Tommy," who, like the audience, was unaware of their mission's objective or why they were in that particular house. It feels less like a traditional script and more like increasingly anxious conversations that unravel as their situation worsens; the cinematography and especially the sound design effectively create a sense of the dangerously confined environment where these men had to operate. The story was shaped by input from actual veterans, which is evident in something that feels somewhat lacking in narrative completeness but remains captivating and vividly depicts the brutality of fighting in an urban setting.
