There’s a sense that a worthwhile film might exist within this project, though maybe not as a comedic effort. Regarding its attempts at humor, Brad Pitt presents a significant problem. I recall another comedy he was in, and his performance then wasn’t particularly strong. This time, it's even more noticeable; it seems evident that he simply isn't naturally funny. The script does contain humorous elements, delivered by the supporting actors, but frankly, Pitt is just not amusing. I don’t recall ever seeing him perform so poorly, and I generally consider myself a fan of his work. The reason for his lack of comedic ability eludes me—perhaps he can't do self-deprecating humor, or maybe he overdoes it, or possibly he doesn’t understand humor at all; you decide — but the fact remains that he isn't funny. Not in the slightest. A better choice for casting would have been obvious and likely more economical too. Then there’s the issue of its classification as a comedy. I wouldn’t describe myself as someone who lacks a sense of humor, yet there are moments in this film where the comedic attempts feel decidedly tasteless. This leads me to question whether the "hidden good movie" should even be presented as a comedy. The strongest parts of *War Machine* certainly aren't the humorous ones.
