This remake doesn’t really work. Let's get one thing straight: this is a modern update of the original Predator film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Got it? Alright, let’s move on. The lead isn’t Arnold. The performer is physically imposing and demonstrates good movement—perhaps even better than Arnold—but he doesn’t have that certain something; he lacks charisma and fails to command attention in this part. And the creature isn't the Predator either. It’s entirely computer-generated, which strips it of any sense of substance. You can’t really interact with it beyond other digital elements like projectiles and rocks, and it has no discernible personality, purpose, or drive; it simply exists. The design seems to draw inspiration from the Deathbringer in the Horizon Zero Dawn game, but this version feels rather bland in comparison. The characters are generally unremarkable—you don't connect with them or develop any investment in their fates, which diminishes the impact of what’s happening on screen. While the film is competently shot and visually acceptable, it lacks soul. As an action movie, it falls short of its ambitions, featuring a less compelling hero than Dutch from the original Predator, and it's likely to fade from memory relatively soon.
