This brief presentation carries a distinct sense of melancholy. It centers on three children's television personalities who have been cast aside after their program concluded. Essentially neglected, they exist in a decaying space filled with buzzing insects and piles of outdated VHS tapes documenting more cheerful periods. Here are the characters that represent so much of what was once watched intently. “Mary” remains unsure if viewers still exist somewhere, diligently searching through old fan mail; “Fumbleton” is disheartened and unfulfilled, aspiring to be an actor, and then there’s "Billybud," constantly wishing for the times when “Uncle Gilly” would lead them on journeys and pursue their interests. An unforeseen event occurs, potentially expanding their world, and red paint suddenly gains a different significance. It's a touching reflection on the uncomplicated nature of what captivated us as children, and also how easily we move on when something no longer holds our attention. The ending didn’t resonate with me particularly well, but there’s something about this affecting animation that brought a smile to my face, prompting contemplation!
