Violent Night delivers an intense Christmas action experience reminiscent of Die Hard, featuring a seriously tough Santa Claus! The film turned out exactly as I anticipated and was thoroughly enjoyable – wonderfully silly fun packed with brutal action and violence! It feels like a fresh Christmas tradition in the making. This is one to watch with friends who appreciate both laughter and reactions to the graphic deaths and over-the-top lines. Violent Night fully acknowledges its own cheesiness, happily accepting familiar elements while keeping things entertaining rather than predictable. The film introduces new ideas related to Santa’s story and has me eager for more, even hoping for a backstory installment! As is typical with 87North productions, the fight scenes are exceptionally well done. It's not going to appeal to everyone, but people who like Bullet Train or Nobody should definitely include Violent Night in their holiday movie rotation.
