I watched this movie quite some time back, likely around its DVD debut, and initially I wasn’t overly impressed. Revisiting it now, after all that time has passed—and maybe because I'm older—I can see the darkly humorous aspects more clearly. There were points where I laughed a great deal. Christian Slater delivers an outstanding performance as this kind of disturbed character. It was also quite impressive to discover that Peter Berg’s directorial debut was so strong. **3.75/5**
