I’m giving this a perfect score because I operate on the principle that if a film provides entertainment, then it has succeeded. However, as someone familiar with the comic books, watching it is somewhat unsettling. You find yourself wanting to argue with what's unfolding onscreen, feeling compelled to point out inaccuracies. My impression is that Eddie’s character wasn’t portrayed as reprehensible enough, though Hardy delivered a stronger performance than Grace did. The symbiote relationship also lacked some of the enjoyment I recall from the comics; still, in those stories, you only heard one perspective in those interactions. As an introduction to the story, it was enjoyable, but considering Venom's prominence within Spider-Man lore and Spider-Man’s own status as a well-known comic book icon, did we really need this origin? Particularly when it deviates so significantly from the established character? It would have been simpler to begin the narrative after the initial setup, allowing it to progress without upsetting those who are devoted to the comics. Regardless of these issues, it managed to strike a good balance between humor and darkness—a combination that generally proves effective—even though the inclusion of more intense violence might have elevated the film even further. It's worth the price of admission, and you probably won’t regret seeing it unless you are someone who can’t tolerate alterations to the original material.
