_Venom: The Last Dance_ has this frustrating quality, similar to getting your go-to burger and discovering they left out a key ingredient. Tom Hardy continues to be excellent as both Eddie and Venom; the way he interacts with his alter ego is oddly captivating and even evokes some feeling. There are definitely scenes that are enjoyable and touching, bringing back what made the pairing appealing initially. However, everything else isn't great. The storyline feels scattered, the new characters don’t stick in your mind, and the antagonist is underwhelming. It gives the impression that those involved just accepted something passable. While there are moments of the familiar comedic dynamic, they aren't enough to prevent the film from feeling like it’s struggling to reach its end. If this concludes the _Venom_ series—and I sincerely hope it does—I won’t be heartbroken. It’s an uneven experience; some parts are good, but ultimately, it’s like Venom himself: a little too rough around the edges to completely embrace.
