This film isn't terrible; it’s perfectly acceptable viewing. The origin story of Carnage deviates from what’s in the comics, but the changes fit the timeframe used for telling this narrative. While the movie doesn’t delve deeply into the backgrounds of the two antagonists, it does illustrate their bond and affection for each other. The film moves quickly and is quite brief, featuring a good amount of humor stemming from interactions between the hosts and the symbiotes. Ultimately, the movie seems designed to pave the way for a third Venom installment and potentially integrate Venom into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The future looks promising for fans if Sony and Marvel can maintain their positive working relationship.
