This movie really stumbled in almost every aspect. The action sequences felt stale and unexciting, the performances were generally poor—even Chan seemed detached—and the computer-generated imagery was unintentionally humorous; considering what’s possible now, especially when compared to franchises like Fast & Furious (which also uses CGI, but incorporates some practical stunts), it's hard to believe they couldn't manage a simple drift without resorting to visual effects. The storyline itself wasn't very strong, and the final confrontation—the villain’s scheme for revenge against a ship captain who barely appears in the film—felt disappointing. It was strange that such an expensive weapon, costing $800 million, could be so easily defeated. It ended up being a significant waste of almost two hours. 1.5/5
