The film follows an ex-slave and barbarian alongside a young boy and several crusaders on a journey from the highlands of Great Britain to North America roughly around 1100 AD, and that essentially covers the narrative. Despite its simplicity, it’s remarkably genuine and beautifully shot. The characters are developed through visuals and minimal conversation, allowing for a clear understanding of their personalities. While the pacing feels deliberate and at times meandering, I found myself completely captivated by it and believe it would have benefited from wider recognition.
