I’m questioning whether continuing these VHS found footage movies is worthwhile; my response is leaning towards "no." VHS99 doesn’t bring anything particularly fresh, frightening, or stimulating to the VHS series. The initial installments in the franchise did manage to present something a bit unique and inventive, but this one simply feels like it was created just to have another one out there. If you're new to VHS horror films, I would suggest beginning with those earlier entries instead. It’s not bad; it provides some mild amusement—it’s just lacking in originality.
