It’s good to see V/H/S returning; after "V/H/S Viral," I assumed that was the end of the franchise. However, Shudder delivered a fourth installment that's just as strong as the original. Set in 1994, the framing story wasn't very compelling and mostly served to introduce the other segments—all of which were quite good. The individual stories don’t have complex ideas or even much of a plot; they are simply displays of intense violence, drenched in blood, with enough dry wit to prevent the excessive brutality from becoming too heavy or ridiculous.
