I never particularly enjoyed V for Vendetta when I initially watched it around 2006, nor during a later viewing on DVD or Blu-ray, and my opinion hasn’t changed after watching it again recently. The movie boasts solid acting from Hugo Weaving—which is impressive considering he spent nearly the entire time concealed behind a mask—and Natalie Portman. Still, I found it to be somewhat unsubtle and obvious, maybe that's consistent with the original graphic novel, and I didn’t feel a strong emotional bond with either the characters or what was happening. Also, nothing particularly memorable distinguishes one moment from another. **3.5/5**
