The story's intensity is undeniable; it's undeniably dark. Yet, at its core lies a message of hope, which is something challenging to portray effectively. This film succeeds in capturing both aspects through impressive cinematography and carefully timed slow-motion action sequences. Watching this movie gives me the feeling that there’s a larger context unfolding around me, and truthfully, it feels incredibly relevant in 2017. The story explores themes of media control by powerful entities, widespread government corruption, and the suppression of individuality—all woven into a noir-style vision of a dystopian, authoritarian London. I can genuinely say that more than ten years on, this film remains one of the best comic book movies ever made, and its ideas will continue to resonate as long as there are people who seek to restrict the freedom of others. I just hope that someday the world doesn't feel any closer to resembling what’s depicted here.
