This is remarkable! I was anticipating the filmmaker would establish something and then pursue it with conviction...but I simply waited, and waited. And there was nothing. It's a disappointing film, really; the concept itself is appealing, but the way it’s presented fails to hold your attention. The performances are quite good, without question, yet they feel misspent due to a weak screenplay and what appears to be an uncertain directorial vision. The movie seemed unsure whether to focus on unsettling audio recordings revealing family conflicts in the wake of disaster, and if it had managed to develop a narrative, it might have been something special.
