This movie feels like an indulgent exercise in style over substance. The story progresses incredibly slowly, weighed down by unnecessary scenes that add little of value. It centers on a strange being from another world who has integrated into human society while secretly feeding on them through a bizarre process involving a dark liquid it can traverse. Beyond that, the film is profoundly dull and offers virtually no enjoyment. While some of the visuals are impressive, they’re fleeting. I appreciate scenic views, but I get those elsewhere—from nature programs like National Geographic or BBC documentaries. A prolonged shot of someone gazing out through fog from inside a car isn't my idea of engaging viewing. Ultimately, it’s just terrible. Within the first few minutes, I noticed how slow everything was moving and sped up the playback to eight times normal speed in an attempt to discover some kind of payoff. There wasn’t one. Seriously, don't bother with this. It performed poorly at the box office, and watching it will quickly explain why.
