A journey through the Colorado Rockies with his niece (Katherine Heigl) turns perilous when Casey Ryback (Steven Seagal) finds himself confronting a group of dangerous terrorists who have commandeered a train, using it as their base while they attempt to seize control of a destructive satellite weapon developed by their leader (Eric Bogosian). Everett McGill portrays the main antagonist, bearing a striking resemblance to an evil Race Bannon. “Under Siege 2: Dark Territory” (1995) proves to be a decent sequel to the earlier film from 1992; while the narrative might not reach the same heights, the setting is significantly improved because the action unfolds on a train winding through mountainous terrain, offering more visual interest than the confined ship seen in the first movie. If you’re seeking an action-packed train movie that moves quickly, this one delivers. The stunts occasionally stretch believability, but it's easier to enjoy them if you think of Ryback (Seagal) as a kind of superhero—someone like John McClane, Rambo, or James Bond, just without the flashy suit. When measured against other train-themed movies, it doesn’t quite reach the level of films such as “Runaway Train” (1985), but it's roughly equivalent to the dreadful “Train” (2008), the Western “Breakheart Pass” (1975), and the more grounded "Unstoppable" (2010). Besides Heigl, Sandra Taylor and Brenda Bakke also appear in supporting roles. The film’s length is 1 hour, 40 minutes, and filming primarily took place in the Colorado Rockies. GRADE: B
