I was surprised to learn after seeing this film that it featured a diverse cast and a prominent female character; my wife had to point it out to me after we left the theater. Initially, I wasn’t interested in Twisters—in fact, I dismissed the idea—until the director stated their intention to avoid incorporating themes of climate change. That suggestion made it seem like a straightforward movie about tornadoes, which was appealing. Ultimately, though, it turned out to be simply a film about tornadoes. It felt very similar to the original, and let's be honest, people didn’t go to see that first one for its complex story; they went to witness tornadoes wreaking havoc and destruction, and that’s precisely what it provided. And that’s exactly what *Twisters* delivers. There's no overt political messaging or lecturing on topics such as climate change, being gay, diversity, feminism, the condemnation of any group of people, or a thinly veiled portrayal of Donald Trump. It’s remarkable—truly remarkable. I can’t recall another movie in recent years that avoided so many predictable social commentary tropes. The film doesn't convey any deeper meaning; it’s just about tornadoes and nothing more. It's simply an enjoyable, entertaining experience. It fulfilled exactly what I look for in a movie—it satisfied my two most important criteria. Is the movie fun? Absolutely! Is the movie entertaining? Definitely! Those are the only things *Twisters* offered, and that’s all I ever require. They created a film I wanted to watch, because I want movies that entertain me, and this one did just that. Thank you; now please make more films focused on entertainment. Away with lectures, long live fun! We need escapism! Give us enjoyment! Please create more films like this—we’ll gladly pay for them.
