There’s a lot to enjoy in this film. If you have an idea of what you're getting into—which shouldn't be difficult considering it stars Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger as twin brothers!—you won't be disappointed. Julius (Arnold) and Vincent (Danny) are the outcome of a genetic experiment intended to create the ideal child, but instead resulted in twins who were separated at birth and raised in very different circumstances. Julius grew up on a beautiful island, received an excellent education, and is naive about the world, while Vincent is a low-rent womanizer from the city. After discovering he has a twin brother, Julius travels to the city to find him, but he’s completely unprepared for urban life, and Vincent isn't exactly eager to embrace a familial relationship, which only complicates things. *Twins* is well-constructed; the two leads have great chemistry together, and even though the plot is silly, it provides an entertaining evening. Kelly Preston and Chloe Webb offer some substance as female characters, but ultimately the film’s appeal rests on the comedic contrast between DeVito and Schwarzenegger—there are plenty of laughs to be had. So grab a beer, get the popcorn ready, and don't expect too much intellectual stimulation. 7/10 Yakety Yak, Yakety Yak.
