It seems like Summit Pictures saw how well "Harry Potter" did and wanted something similar. They decided to combine a popular actor like Robert Pattinson with Kristen Stewart and bring Stephenie Meyer’s vampire novels to the screen. The concept itself seemed promising – the books are decent, and there's plenty of material for characters and plots, particularly with werewolves and typical romantic rivalries involved. However, at some point, the project went off track, resulting in a sentimental and unfocused narrative. The actors didn’t seem to have much chemistry together, and the script failed to do the books justice. Aside from a few moments featuring the villainous vampire Cam Gigandet as "James," the film lacks any real sense of danger or suspense; it just feels bland and uninspired. While the special effects were undoubtedly costly, they haven't aged well, making this an underwhelming attempt overall. I’m eager to see what happens next—I can hardly wait for the second movie!
