This neo-noir thriller boasts a remarkable ensemble of performers, though the film itself is only passable. Paul Newman, Gene Hackman, and Susan Sarandon all deliver strong performances, with particular enjoyment found in the scenes between Newman and Hackman. Reese Witherspoon appears as well, alongside Liev Schreiber, and James Garner provides his usual reliable presence even with limited screen time.
