The film draws inspiration from the comics to overcome an adversary. It’s presented in the style of 80s movies, with a setting in the future—specifically, the late 90s. If you grew up in the 90s, you've probably seen many sci-fi films from the 80s, and this one is geared toward fans of that era. It’s something like a semi-superhero movie, similar to 'Super' and 'Defendor'. Aside from that, it doesn't have anything in common with 'New Kids Turbo' or its sequel 'Nitro', despite my initial thought that it might be the third installment in that series. I found it to be a pretty cool film; I had a lot of fun watching it. It resembles the recent 'Mad Max' movie, but both were produced around the same time and this one isn’t solely about car chases or a road trip. Instead, I think it just took inspiration from that franchise’s earlier trilogy, where cars are replaced with BMX bikes—kind of an eco-friendly film! Like many post-apocalyptic stories, this one focuses on a regional conflict over water resources. A ruthless man controls the water supply and eliminates anyone who threatens his power. Then, a boy and girl, along with another man, seek revenge and challenge him. The movie’s conclusion reveals who will emerge victorious in that battle. > "A man never knows how strong he is > until being strong is the only choice he has." My initial impression was that the film would appeal to everyone, especially kids, but my opinion changed once the action sequences started. There aren't any elaborate stunts, but there’s a fair amount of blood and gore. Though nothing is overly serious, it remains entertaining at times, even slightly disgusting, while maintaining a steady pace throughout. The character Apple was very sweet and endearing; she really brought a spark to the movie with her funny and bubbly personality. It was disappointing to discover what kind of person she actually is. She subtly created a romantic atmosphere that I didn’t anticipate. The story is straightforward, with a simple twist, good characters, and decent visuals. It's certainly above average, but not quite amazing—though it’s very enjoyable for the first viewing. The filmmakers appear to be relatively new to the scene, but they demonstrated their abilities adequately, managing an acceptable standard film despite a limited budget. If you enjoy B-movies, this one won’t disappoint, unless you're unfamiliar with that genre. I think it will gain cult status among B movie fans over the next decade and beyond. 6.5/10
