Their bond deepens as they talk about their lives together. This forms the core of the film, consuming most of its running time, but it left me feeling like very little was truly explained, at least to satisfy my curiosity, even though the plot progressed. Considering Truman Capote, there are two films that explore his story—'Infamous,' which I found enjoyable, and 'Capote.' There’s also 'In Cold Blood,' which details events preceding Capote’s involvement. That’s what I’m now keen to see after experiencing this film. The filmmakers seemed more interested in portraying a writer grappling with challenges; the crime itself wasn't explored deeply. Essentially, it’s about a reporter or writer working on a story or book. It would be interesting if they created a prequel using the same actors, as it might offer insight into the motives behind the crime—something that remains unclear in this film. Both Jonah Hill and James Franco delivered strong performances. Felicity Jones had a smaller role despite being important to the plot. The director’s feature debut was handled competently enough. Ultimately, I thought it was a good movie, not exceptional, but worth watching. _6/10_
