It’s something you have to work to appreciate. As someone unfamiliar with computer programming, I found it to be a slow, drawn-out, and frankly dull experience. *Tron* simply failed to capture my attention. The less than impressive special effects didn't help—and even considering its 1982 release date, I’m not sure they hold up well—nor did the unremarkable acting performances. It’s hard to connect with the story if you don’t already have some familiarity with coding and related concepts. While there are a few interesting elements present, they weren't enough to keep me engaged; it felt like it ran much longer than its stated 96-minute length. If this is your kind of thing, great, but I didn’t enjoy it at all. I hope the film from 2010 manages to significantly improve upon the original idea.
