I found *Trolls* to be surprisingly good, actually enjoyable. Before seeing it, my knowledge was limited to those classic troll dolls—mostly just that one pink-haired guy comes to mind—so I didn’t expect a movie about them to make much of an impression. However, it turned out to be pretty entertaining and amusing. The film moves along quickly, and the music is really well done; every song seems perfectly matched to what's happening on screen. Some might say there are too many musical numbers compared to other scenes, but I’m not entirely convinced that’s true. The voice acting is also commendable. Anna Kendrick was a great choice for the lead role, and Justin Timberlake, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Zooey Deschanel, and Christine Baranski all provide solid support. There are several recognizable voices among those actors as well, including Russell Brand (who’s strangely playing his future self?) and John Cleese. It was a genuinely pleasant surprise. Now I'm curious to see how the two sequels measure up; I intend to watch them shortly.
