The sequel, *’Trolls World Tour’*, turned out to be largely what I anticipated the first movie would have been: a rather bland narrative paired with unremarkable songs. Surprisingly, I did like the initial film, but this one didn’t connect with me as well. The focus on all-troll characters felt like a misstep; it's hard to believe the Bergens were actually what made the original work. It feels almost entirely separate from the previous installment, as if the story was simply created out of thin air. That isn’t to say the plot is terrible—it just didn't manage to keep me engaged, and that’s partly due to the weaker jokes and less memorable music. Some characters receive far more screen time than they need. James Corden and Ron Funches have bigger parts this time around, but I honestly can’t say why; neither of them made a strong impression on me, and they seem just as uninspired here. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake at least continue to carry the film, and their performances are reliable. The new actors didn't particularly distinguish themselves in their roles, even though many of them have recognizable voices. Sam Rockwell, Mary J. Blige, J Balvin, and Ozzy Osbourne are a few examples; there are quite a few familiar faces throughout. I thought the first one was good, this second one wasn’t so much. Now all attention is on the third film, *'Trolls Band Together'*...
