"Poppy" and "Branch’s" discoveries regarding music in Troll land have led to the emergence of "Thrash" and "Barb," who believe rock is the only valid genre. Displeased with this notion, they initiate a campaign to erase all other musical styles, leaving only their preferred kind dominant. When "Poppy" learns about their scheme, she resolves to unite all Trolls in opposition to it. This latest installment isn’t particularly exciting, but it provides adequate entertainment for children watching at home. However, the overall experience feels rather careless, with some slower songs and unremarkable arena rock tracks interspersed throughout a soundtrack that transforms what should have been an epic clash of musical styles into something more like a weak encounter. The animation appears artificial from beginning to end, and while there’s a basic storyline present, the characters lack depth, resulting in a surprisingly lifeless product—even with its bright colors. I don't typically align with the intended viewers, but it seems "Dreamworks" is focused on leveraging the established name and delivering an uneasy combination of messages about fairness and being yourself, instead of crafting something truly special or that would connect with younger audiences who will likely overlook most of what’s happening.
