Even when explaining the background of trolls, the filmmakers avoid getting bogged down in excessive detail. The full appearance of the creatures is held back for a while, but that anticipation pays off. While I wouldn't call myself an expert on visual effects, I thought they were quite well done. The description lists horror as one of its genres, though it’s not the kind of graphic horror film I typically skip. It looks like there’s a new movie about this topic now, so it could be interesting to check them both out and see how they measure up.
