Upon a second look, this didn’t resonate with me as strongly as when I first saw it in 2016. It boasts a large ensemble cast delivering generally solid work; however, I struggled to accept Kate Winslet's portrayal of someone menacing or intimidating. My biggest disappointment stemmed from the script itself – it felt like it could have benefited from more precise editing and a clearer direction. The film appeared to be attempting something akin to Heat and Dark Blue, but failed to capture either’s intensity, criminal elements, or dramatic weight. Had Michael Mann or Ridley Scott directed, perhaps the visual style could have offset some of the script's shortcomings, yet ultimately it proved merely passable, not memorable. 3.0/5
