I’m a big fan of anthologies; I find that short, carefully crafted narratives frequently surpass lengthy plots or in-depth character explorations. So, when *Trick ‘R Treat* arrived, it reassured me that despite its limited appeal, there are filmmakers who still appreciate the format. It's disappointing, then, that *Trick ‘R Treat* didn’t quite live up to expectations. The film is visually appealing and has some amusing scenes. I found myself mostly engaged by the narrative of a peculiar girl enacting revenge with help from unexpected allies, and another about a man confronting an unusual Halloween visitor. However, these stories aren't groundbreaking; they feel more like nods to familiar urban legends and classic Halloween tropes. The way the four narratives connect is unique, though. It’s not structured like *Creepshow*, as there isn't anything that distinctly separates them. *Trick ‘R Treat* is competently made but doesn’t offer a particularly thrilling experience.
