Dario Argento’s 1993 Giallo film, *Trauma*, is an inconsistent work—a title in his filmography that fans acknowledge as displaying both the director's strengths and weaknesses. Asia Argento portrays a young woman struggling with an eating disorder who escapes from a mental health facility. She joins forces with a man poised to become a hero, and together they find themselves caught up in pursuing a serial killer called "The Headhunter," a hooded figure known for beheading his victims. With financial backing from the United States for the first time, Argento seems to be enjoying himself here. The film’s upbeat score by Pino Donaggio makes it difficult to take *Trauma* seriously as a horror movie; however, it remains an enjoyable experience, with the director combining graphic violence and suspense alongside his characteristic quirks.
