Following a previous extravagant installment, this offering revisits the beginning of the Transformers’ timeline, depicting a scenario where all the "Prime" versions have been eliminated in battle. Now, only "Sentinel Prime" remains to guide the robots as they endlessly extract fuel—a resource that enables them to continue extracting fuel. The concept is fairly straightforward. Numerous characters lack the ability to transform, including “Orion Pax,” his companion “D-16,” and their energetic overseer “Elita-1.” However, after a series of events leads them from the mine onto the restricted surface, they uncover a startling truth that challenges not only the history they’ve been told but also the trustworthiness of their leaders. The question becomes whether they can stop an evil scheme designed to keep the robots enslaved indefinitely. As far as origin stories go, this one is quite good. Consistent action sequences propel a narrative that doesn't depend too much on familiarity with the Hasbro universe; instead, it simply lets you support the heroes as they fight against imposing and threatening forces determined to maintain the existing order and ensure nothing changes. The story explores familiar themes of camaraderie, faithfulness, and aspiration. Although there’s not a great deal of genuine danger—and, let's be honest, this is part of an ongoing series that will continue for quite some time—there’s still much to appreciate as it establishes the groundwork for future developments. It would likely benefit from being viewed in theaters to fully experience the expansive animation and visual effects, and the storytelling and character development are not bad either.
